The 11th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has reached its business end now as most of the teams will have to witness some crunch game in the last week of the league stages of the IPL 2018. One of those crunch games will be played between the two teams who can’t afford to a loss in the tournament now, Mumbai Indians (MI) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in Mumbai. KXIP was humiliated by Royals Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in their last game. Both the teams need to will their remaining two games in order to qualify for the IPL 2018 playoffs. The last time these two locked horns with each other, MI had defeated KXIP comfortably by a margin of 6 wickets. However, there is no doubt about the fact that both the teams do have proven match-winners in their respective squads who can single-handedly take the game away from any opposition. Let us have a look at the Players to watch out for fantasy sites for MI vs KXIP.
1. KL Rahul
The Bangalore wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul has been in an excellent form and has been the main reason for Kings XI Punjab’s success so far. Opening the innings, he has been a major factor alongside Gayle and has the fastest fifty in the IPL which he smacked in the first match. KL has so far scored 558 runs in the 12 matches that he has played. He is currently averaging 56 and boasts a strike rate of 162. In the last game against KKR, despite losing wickets at one end and a mounting target at the other, Rahul was determined enough to use the long handle. He seemed to be the only hope for his team. He ended up scoring a fine 66 (29) with the help of two fours and seven sixes.
2. Andrew Tye
In the game against RR, Andrew Tye finished the game with bowling figures of 4-0-34-4. With 16 wickets in the tournament, he has now also got hold of the Purple Cap. In an interview post the innings, a teary-Tye revealed that he had lost his grandmother in the morning and that he would want to dedicate this performance to her. Even in the game against KKR, he finished the game with a spell of 4-0-41-4 despite the fact that the other bowlers were gone for runs.
3. Rohit Sharma
Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma has been struggling for runs in this IPL which is why he has been low. Captain’s attitude often rubs on his teammates and it seems to be the case here. So far in the 12 innings, Rohit Sharma has only scored 267 runs, a tally less than KKR’s Sunil Narine. He has got two fifties in the season but has also been out for duck thrice. The leading man’s lean patch needs to come good for Mumbai Indians if they are to progress.
4. Surya Kumar Yadav
The Mumbai middle-order batsman is having a brilliant season at the top. Surya Kumar Yadav has already scored most runs for an uncapped player in a single IPL season. His stint at the opening has been incredible and has helped Mumbai set a good platform. In the 12 matches so far, Surya has scored 473 runs at an average 39.41 of with a strike rate of 129.58. These runs include 57 fours and 13 sixes.
